ClearFlow

How can dictation feel immediate while keeping its infrastructure under the user’s control?

Actual ClearFlow interface using synthetic demonstration text.

The application

ClearFlow combines a native macOS recording interface, shortcut capture, transcription history and automatic text insertion. Its default speech service uses local MLX Whisper; a user-owned Cloudflare backend is optional.

The engineering

The work includes microphone and Accessibility permission handling, persistent shortcut configuration, local service setup and portable distribution. Fn/Globe support adds key-state handling beyond a conventional modifier shortcut.

Current scope

The public project includes source and downloadable releases. The screenshot uses sample text. Distribution and automated checks do not substitute for testing microphone capture and insertion under a particular Mac’s permissions and shortcut conflicts.
